Interdisciplinarity - Buzzword or Indispensable Concept?

An international symposium at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin on October 3 and 4, 2019 discusses the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and new perspectives.

At the symposium 'Interdisciplinarity Revisited', international experts will discuss the definitions and approaches currently linked to the concept of interdisciplinary, research and teaching in seven sessions. Additionally, there will also be ample space for looking at new perspectives and options.

The symposium will take place in the Humboldt Forum in the reconstructed Berlin Palace and will be jointly organized by Humboldt University, the Humboldt Forum Foundation and the Volkswagen Foundation. Registrations for participation from science and media are still possible.

As part of the symposium, a panel discussion, conceived by the Humboldt Forum Foundation, will take place on the evening of October 3. Under the title 'To whom does culture belong?', the broader question of the right to ownership of culture is asked against the background of the debates about the handling of postcolonial collections.
